Introducing Skype™ video counseling Thanks to advances in communication technology, New Day Christian Counseling is now able to offer distance counseling via Skype™. Whether you live near the ends of the Island, or elsewhere in Canada or the United States, access to quality Christian counseling is available to you.  At New Day, we use video calls – as opposed to instant messaging or voice calls – to maintain the informative dynamics of body language and facial expressions.  What you need for high quality video calls The latest version of Skype™ for windows (a free program accessible at www.skype.com) A high quality webcam (preferably Logitech™ Skype™ certified) A dual core PC And a fast broad band connection How Skype™ counseling works  1.  The first thing you do is contact New Day to book an appointment time for your free initial consultation. 2.  At your consultation you will be directed to fill out informed consent and intake forms for your counselor (links to these are at the bottom of this page). 3.  The counselor will then add you to his Skype™ contact list and video call you at the appointed time.  Note: It is important that you be at your computer on time, as he will call once at the set time, and once more 10 minutes later. If you miss both calls the session will be considered a no-show. Paying for Skype™ video counseling The Skype™ program itself is free to use for computer to computer calls within Canada and the United States. The counseling sessions cost $75.00 (Canadian) each which includes the 5% Goods and Services Tax (GST), and are to be paid for using PayPal™. The initial consultation is always free at New Day Christian Counseling, so you pay nothing up front for your first video counseling session. If, following your consultation, you decide to work with the counselor and to book another session, payment is to be made at the time of session booking.
